Starting off her musical journey as a pianist and flautist, Robin is entering her second year masters as a conductor at California Baptist University.
Robin spent the summer of 2022 at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival under Dr. Gene Moon, studying standard repertoire and premiering the works of new composers. She also received masterclass style instruction from many of the guest conductors such as Robert Moody, Kalena Bovell, Andrew Crust, and many others.
Robin has conducted works for wind band and orchestra at different workshops including the Cleveland Pops, the University of North Texas, the University of Oregon, and the University of Central Florida. Well-rounded as a conductor, instrumentalist, and administrator, Robin spent the past summer working as the Artist Liaison with the National Repertory Orchestra. While working with the NRO, Robin performed piano with the orchestra for Disney's "The Lion King" in concert and for Anna Throvaldsdottir's "Ro" at the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts. Robin will spend this summer at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival as orchestra manager for the Sewanee Symphony.
As a flautist, Robin has performed in prestigious ensembles such as the World Youth Wind Symphony at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, the 2019 FMEA All State Symphonic Band, the Florida Music Ambassadors 75th Anniversary Tour to Europe and more. Robin graduated from Florida Southern College as a double major in piano and flute performance. Robin currently studies instrumental conducting at California Baptist University under Dr. Gene Moon and Dr. Robert Frelly.

Guest Conductors
James Rocillo is a highly regarded music clinician known for his expertise in concert, jazz, and marching bands. His reputation extends beyond his region, with invitations to prestigious events and honor groups, including the SCSBOA Jazz Honor Band in 2018 and the Santa Ana Unified District Honor Band in 2017. Beyond his clinician career, Mr. Rocillo is an Associate Professor at Riverside City College, where he directs the concert band Jazz Ensemble and the world-famous Riverside City College Marching Tigers. He's known for his commitment to music education. James is dedicated to continuous learning, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing from the University of Phoenix in 2008 and a Master of Education degree from National University in 2013. He graduated from California Baptist University in March 2024 with a Masters of Instrumental Conducting while studying under Dr. Gene Moon. Outside of his professional life, James resides in the Inland Empire with his wife Sara, their son Miles, and their beloved dogs, Aki and Coltrane.
Travis Muñoz is a bassoonist from West Covina, California. He has been studying bassoon since 2004, graduating from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Beck and earned a degree from Southern Oregon University. Travis has performed with many groups in the Rogue Valley including the Ashland City Band, Camelot Theatre pit orchestra, Rogue Valley Symphonic Band, Southern Oregon Concert Band, and the Southern Oregon University Wind Ensemble. Aside from large ensembles, Travis shares his love for music through smaller chamber ensembles and he was a founding member of the Coloratura Reed Quintet, La Forza trio, and [Reedacted] clarinet ensemble. Travis was a conductor's assistant for the Southern Oregon University Wind Ensemble and Artistic Director of the New Horizons Band. Travis serves as a graduate assistant for Dr. Gene Moon while earning a degree in instrumental conducting and currently plays bassoon for CBU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
Denny Duran-Flores is a conductor, trumpet player, and arranger from Southern California. He is the founder and artistic director of the Redlands Chamber Orchestra. Currently a student at the University of Redlands, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He is a student under the guidance of Dr. David Scott and Eddie Smith.
Denny has been invited to guest conduct the Pomona Concert Band since 2020, as well as the University of Redlands Bulldog Brass and Redlands Youth Symphony since spring 2023. He is also active as a trumpet player, participating in the university Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Bulldog Brass, and Studio Big Band. Denny is a founding member of Mariachi Tierras Rojas, a newly formed mariachi ensemble at the University of Redlands under the direction of Cindy Shea. In Fall 2023, he founded the Redlands Chamber Orchestra, a pops orchestra that welcomes university students and community musicians.
Apart from conducting and performing, Denny has arranged for many ensembles throughout Southern California and beyond. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he organized virtual music projects with musicians from across the United States, as well as Canada and the United Kingdom. Denny’s arrangements have been performed all over California, including Frederick Loewe Performance Hall (Redlands, CA), G. Stanton Selby Bandshell (Pomona, CA), Bonita Center for the Performing Arts (San Dimas, CA), and Paul Shaghoian Memorial Concert Hall (Fresno, CA).
Denny aspires to pursue a master’s degree in orchestral conducting and work to make music education and the orchestral field a more inclusive and accessible space.
Hannah Herrera
Hannah Herrera graduated with her Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting program at California Baptist University in 2024. She graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. In the future, she hopes to open a music school overseas and work with youth and adults in community orchestra, and she currently owns and operates a piano studio in the Riverside area. She lives with her husband Steven in Redlands, California.
