Biography

Angel Velasquez is currently studying film at Riverside City College. He began playing trombone at the beginning of 6th grade. He attended Temescal Canyon High School where he was involved with the marching, jazz and concert bands. His senior year the band traveled to Hawaii to perform in a competition. He now currently plays trombone for the RCC Concert Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Lab.

What inspired you to go into music?

I really enjoyed listening to different genres of music and two that always stuck out to me was classical and jazz music. I wanted to learn how to play an instrument to be able to perform with different bands.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I hyperfixate on new topics that I find interesting. I’m also bilingual.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing video games.

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

I get to learn to new music and meet new people.
