Welcome to the Mission Philharmonic and Mission Wind Ensemble! We are thrilled to have you join us as we embark on this exciting journey together.
Founded by Artistic Director Robin Raisch, our ensemble draws inspiration from Riverside’s rich heritage, including its iconic Spanish Mission architecture, a creative idea brought to life by our founding tubist, Andrew Calvillo. The Mission Philharmonic is proud to bring together musicians from across the Riverside area, fostering a vibrant sense of community for both our performers and audiences. Our ensemble unites the music community by featuring members from five local universities, three high schools, and dedicated K-12 band directors, creating a dynamic group that spans all ages.
Our programs are designed to offer something for everyone, with concerts ranging from pops, educational performances, classical repertoire and more. These opportunities allow our musicians to explore diverse genres and prepare for careers in professional orchestras. The dynamic programming also exposes audiences to an expansive list of varied repertoire.
With the support of the Public Art Riverside Grant, our Mission Wind Ensemble recently delighted families with Wish Upon a Star, a Disney-themed concert aimed at engaging younger audiences and families. At Mission, we are passionate about making music accessible to all and believe in the power of music to connect and inspire.
Join us as we work to make classical music free and accessible to everyone in Riverside. Thank you for being part of our mission!
