Biography

Joe Yocam is currently attending Riverside City College, where he studies under Kevin Mayse. From there, he attended Mater Dei High School, in Santa Ana. At his time at Mater Dei, he was the Woodwind Section Leader and was a captain for the Boy’s Swim Team. Joe currently attends RCC, where he has studies under Dr. Ben Sorrell and Dr. Cameron Dominguez. He plays bassoon and tenor sax.

What inspired you to go into music?

My family, specifically my sister.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I am double jointed in both of my elbows.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

In my free time, I like to play bass guitar and hang out with my friends. I also enjoy going surfing with my Dad.

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

I am most excited about meeting new people in the ensemble and making new friends.
