Biography

Salvador Tapia, a student at California Baptist University currently studying Music Education. He has been involved in music since the fourth grade and had not studied under anyone until he got to College. Salvador has been a part of many honors band including the High Desert Honor Band, California State University of San Bernardino and the Tournament of Roses Honor Band in 2020 and 2022. Salvador also performed with the Victor Valley Community College Orchestra.

Currently Salvador plays French horn in the California Baptist Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble and studies French Horn under Lisa Cherry.

What inspired you to go into music?

At first, I was impressed after seeing a band performance so I decided to try it out and since I just kept at it.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I walked 26 miles from Claremont to CBU in one day just to see if I could.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy, watching tv shows, coding, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

I am excited to see how much better I can get this year.
