Biography
Josiah Yang has been playing cello for the past 12 years and has continued his studies at California Baptist University while studying for his Music Education and General Biology degrees. Josiah serves as the principal cellist for the California Baptist University Symphony Orchestra, Opera Orchestra and The University Choir and Orchestra. While he serves as a cellist in the CBU ensembles and Mission Philharmonic, he also plays French Horn in the Mission Wind Ensemble.
What inspired you to go into music?
I’ve loved and played music ever since I was 4, so it was an easy decision to continue playing in college.
What is an interesting fact about you?
For almost my entire life my family has fostered baby sisters and it is always such a joy to have them come through our home.
What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
When I’m free I love playing spikeball, volleyball, and hanging out with my friends.
What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?
I’m excited to get to play my french horn again and to be a part of a wind band. I hope to keep improving my horn skills and eventually audition for a drum corp.
