Biography
Jeremy is a senior violinist and music education major studying under Dr. Jin-Hee Kim at California Baptist University. Before his studies at CBU, he was a founding member of The Contiguo Quartet, with which he won the 2020 Buttram Competition. He also served as a section leader in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra and won the 2018 Next Generation Performing Arts Concerto Competition. Currently, he holds the position of Concertmaster for the CBU Symphony Orchestra and University Choir & Orchestra and section leader of Riverside City College Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he plays Violino Principale in CBU’s Collegium Musicum.
He plays regularly with the Corona Symphony Orchestra as a section violinist under Marco Meija and recently spent his summer as a young artist at The Trentino Music Festival in Italy under Maestro J. David Jackson from the Metropolitan Opera. In addition to this, he was recently named a Presser Scholar in recognition of his outstanding work as an undergraduate student. Beyond his academic pursuits, Jeremy actively contributes to his church, Antioch.
What inspired you to go into music?
I wanted to learn how to play Star Wars, then I was going to quit!
What is an interesting fact about you?
I’ve gone paragliding in Switzerland multiple times!
What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy rock climbing, drinking craft coffee, and reading music history and spiritual formation books.
What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?
Movie music or Scheherezade!
