Biography

Genesis Serna is currently a student at RCC hoping to get a doctoral for her music education journey. She wants to be a mariachi teacher and open up a program for mariachi students at RCC. Began playing the violin at the age of 14 at high school and never thought that it would change her life for the better in the arts of music.

What inspired you to go into music?

A YouTuber name Lindsey Stirling, she played the violin so differently and made it sound so fun while dancing and playing the violin at the same time and I wanted to try it out.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I played with Mariachi Vargas twice.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I like going to the gym

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

To learn more classical music and have fun because am more used to mariachi music than classical.
