Biography

Destiny Alferez, a student who just received their associates in music at Riverside City College in the Spring of 2024. She is currently a student at California Baptist University where she is pursing her Bachelors in Music Education. Destiny began learning Violin at the age of 12. She attended Murrieta Mesa High School, she was concert master for Orchestra her senior year, was in Wind Ensemble for three years and was trumpet section leader for Marching band.

What inspired you to go into music?

I was inspired to go into music because of my family, my dad especially. They were all actively participating in music groups and it was something that introduced me into the world of performing. From there, I fell in love with music, I tried to learn as much as I can from my uncle, my dad and cousin about reading music, why they love it and the instruments they played. I am absolutely glad that I am able to pursue my passion in music and will hopefully be able to teach the same thing to others.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I really love Astronomy, my favorite planet is Saturn.

What activities do you enjoy in your spare time?

I love going to the gym, favorite day is Leg day! I love going to Disneyland too!

What are you most excited for about this 2024-2025 season?

Definitely most excited to meet everyone! can't wait for the music we will be playing :)
